What this notice covers
- This notice covers the dangroupuk.com website and emails you send to dan@dangroupuk.com.
- The plan4life app, and each business's own services (for example client engagements and outreach), have their own privacy notices. For example, see the Growth Engine site notice: https://growthengine.dangroupuk.com/privacy.
What we collect
- If you email us: whatever you choose to send, usually your name, email address, business name and message. Please don't include sensitive information (for example about health). This site has no forms; the contact links open your own email app.
- When you visit the site: our hosting provider automatically processes technical data needed to deliver and secure the pages, such as your IP address, browser details, and the date and time of your request, in server and request logs.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your email and, if you ask, to prepare a quote or proposal.
- If you are contacting us for yourself or your own business, this is a step you've asked us to take before a possible contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- If you are writing on behalf of a company or other organisation, we rely on our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To deliver the site and keep it secure: our legitimate interest in running a safe website (Article 6(1)(f)).
- We do not send you marketing unless you have separately asked us to.
You don't have to give us your details. But if you don't email us, we can't reply to you.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. It is handled only by Daniel Ruffle and these service providers, who act on our instructions:
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages) hosts this website. It serves the pages and handles server and request logs (such as IP address and browser details) for security and delivery, as our processor.
- Google, our email provider (Google Workspace). Google processes our email on our instructions under its Workspace terms and Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Replies come from dan@dangroupuk.com.
- Grok Bot AI assistant workspace, if we copy your email into our private tracker to follow it up. It acts on our instructions as our processor. We are confirming where this provider stores data. If it stores data outside the UK, we will rely on UK adequacy regulations or ICO-approved transfer safeguards (the IDTA or UK Addendum), and you can ask us for details at dan@dangroupuk.com.
Transfers outside the UK
- Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, including in the US. Its Data Processing Addendum provides appropriate safeguards: the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses, or the UK–US data bridge where it applies.
- Google may store and process email outside the UK, including in the US. Its data processing terms provide for UK transfers using UK-recognised adequacy (including the UK–US data bridge for certified US organisations) or standard contractual clauses.
- Grok Bot AI assistant workspace: we are confirming where this provider stores data. Safeguard: if it stores data outside the UK, UK adequacy regulations or ICO-approved transfer safeguards (the IDTA or UK Addendum).
- You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Emails that don't lead to work: deleted 12 months after our last contact.
- Client records: 6 years (tax and legal reasons).
- If you ask us not to contact you, we keep a minimal note so we respect that.
- Technical logs are kept by Cloudflare under its own retention schedule.
Cookies
- This site sets no cookies or similar technologies (such as local storage or tracking pixels) on your device.
- We don't use analytics, advertising or any other tracking.
- If that ever changes, we'll update this notice first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before anything is set.
Your rights
- You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it.
- You can ask for your data in a portable format where we rely on contract.
- If you've agreed to receive marketing, you can withdraw your agreement at any time, and you can always object to marketing.
- It's free, and we reply within one month.
Complaints
- Please tell us first at dan@dangroupuk.com. We acknowledge complaints within 30 days and respond without undue delay.
- You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
